Jenny Worth Signs With Optimum Nutrition!
July 24, 2003

Optimum Nutrition has announced the addition of Jenny Worth, one of the top-ranked competitors on the IFBB Professional Fitness circuit & still one of the youngest professional members of the IFBB, to their team of spokespeople. Optimum Nutrition are also the manufacturer's of the popular American Body Building Products too. Jenny's contract includes trade show, store and advertising appearances.

Jenny actually worked for the company at the recent 2003 Arnold Fitness Expo. The company was so impressed with Jenny's appearance and the amazing amount of fans that she brought to the booth to get an autographed photo from her, that they knew she had to be part of this dynamic company.

At the age of 26, Worth has already competed in over 28 fitness competitions. It is her unique style of fitness routines, which typically includes the use of props, that has helped her to become a major competitor in the fitness world in just a short amount of time.

With the support of Optimum Nutrition, Jenny plans to come back to the competitive stage with a vengeance at both the 2003 IFBB Fitness Olympia & 2003 IFBB GNC Show Of Strength Fitness after sitting out from competition for the past year.

GNC TAPS PRO FIGURE CHAMPION JENNY LYNN & TOP FITNESS CHAMPION SHANNON METERAUD TO JOIN PRO PERFORMANCE® TEAM

General Nutrition Companies, Inc. has announced the addition of Jenny Lynn, the top-ranked competitor on the International Federation of Body Builders (IFBB) Pro Figure circuit and the current title holder of the 2003 IFBB Arnold Schwarzenegger International Figure Championships & 2003 IFBB Pittsburgh Pro Figure, to the Pro Performance Team of spokespersons. In addition, they also announced the addition of top placing IFBB Pro Fitness competitor Shannon Meteraud, who recently placed 2nd in the 2003 IFBB New York City Pro Fitness. Rounding out a group of athletes that embody the strength and vitality of GNC's Pro Performance Series, Lynn's & Meteraud’s contract with Pro Performance includes trade show and advertising appearances.

Lynn comes from a background in NPC and IFBB Fitness, having been crowned the overall champion of the 2001 NPC USA Fitness Championships in Las Vegas. She finished her pro fitness career by placing 5th at the 2002 IFBB GNC Show Of Strength Pro Fitness in New Orleans. She made the switch to Figure at the beginning of 2003 and has easily helped set the standard for this new division. Lynn is looking to become the first IFBB Figure Olympia overall champion.

Meteraud was the winner of several NPC Fitness events, notably the 1999 NPC Debbie Kruck Fitness Classic. She turned pro at the 1999 NPC USA Fitness Championships and immediately had an impact in the IFBB by placing 3rd in her first pro event, the 2000 IFBB Fitness International, which qualified her for that year’s IFBB Fitness Olympia, where she placed 6th. Meteraud is also unique in the fact that she took off the year 2001 to get married & have a baby. She is the only IFBB Pro Fitness competitor to come back just 8 months after having a baby to compete again. Making it equally impressive was that she placed 3rd in the 2002 IFBB N.Y.C. Pro Fitness, where she again qualified for that year’s IFBB Fitness Olympia. Look for her to once again to compete in the 2003 IFBB Fitness Olympia.

Both Lynn & Meteraud will be competing in the 2003 IFBB GNC Show Of Strength, set for November 7 & 8 in Atlanta, Georgia.

You will also see them making appearances across the country for GNC at a variety of venues, GNC stores, conventions and NPC and IFBB contests.

Adela Garcia-Friedmansky Repeats As Winner Of The 2003 IFBB
New York City Pro Fitness

Adela Garcia-Friedmansky scored her first IFBB Pro Fitness victory for 2003 on March 29th over 16 other competitors. Adela was the reigning champion of this event as she had won the inaugural 2002 IFBB New York City Pro Fitness. Promoter Steve Weinberger asked her to come back to defend her title & she did so in stunning fashion! Just one month earlier Adela stunned the fitness world by placing 2nd in the 2003 IFBB Fitness International.

In this contest, she won both swimsuit/physique rounds& the 45 second mandatory routine hands down & placed 2nd in the 2 minute routine.

In addition to Adela, JMP® Management athlete Shannon Meteraud was able to place 2nd & qualify for the 2003 IFBB Fitness Olympia too. Both of these athletes will be sitting out the remainder of the year to prepare for the Fitness Olympia, & then hopefully wind up the year by getting an invite to compete in the 2003 IFBB GNC Show Of Strength Pro Fitness.

To schedule an appearance for Adela, Shannon or any of the athlete's from JMP® Management, please contact us at the above numbers for rates & availability.

Jenny Lynn Wins First Ever IFBB Pro Figure Championships At The Arnold Classic!

Former NPC & IFBB Fitness competitor Jenny Lynn, she was the overall winner of the 2001 NPC USA Fitness Championships, made the switch to the new IFBB Figure division in Columbus, Ohio for the inaugural event - the 2003 IFBB Arnold Schwarzenegger International Figure Championships. Having just competed in her last IFBB Fitness contest in November, 2002, the GNC Show Of Strength Pro Fitness, where she placed 5th, it was time for the switch. Since the judging criteria was spelled out just like NPC Figure, where the physiques are judged just like fitness, except there are no routines, Jenny thought the transition would suit her well since she’d been placing within the top 3 or 5 in the swimsuit rounds in her last few fitness contests. Taking out the routine would only benefit her in IFBB Figure, which it did. The field of 13 invited competitors included the return of 2 of the most recognized names in the fitness world. This wouldn’t daunt Jenny as she trained & dieted like she’d done for the past year & she was just honored to be standing on stage next to these women. What she didn’t realize is that she would set the standard for the new division & be the athlete that everybody would soon be comparing themselves to. History was made in Columbus when Jenny was crowned the overall champion & a new era had begun once she received her overall trophy & prizes from none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger himself! It should be noted that Jenny received unanimous first place votes in both rounds of the contest.

In addition to Jenny, JMP® Management athlete Davana Medina was able to place 3rd & earn the final qualifying spot for the inaugural 2003 IFBB Figure Olympia. What many people don’t realize is that Davana’s pro debut was also just her 3rd contest ever! To refresh memories, she entered her 1st contest, the 2001 NPC Atlantic States Figure Championships & took the overall title there. She then moved on to compete in the 1st Annual NPC National Figure Championships, where she ironically beat Jenny Lynn in the tall class & went on to be crowned the 1st overall NPC National Figure Champion. With there not being an IFBB Pro Figure division to ascend to in 2002, Davana sat out the entire year of 2002, just making appearances to fulfil her MET-Rx contract. Congratulations to both these fine figure athlete’s for making such a big impact in this event!

Their next contest will be the 2003 IFBB Pittsburgh Pro Figure & then the 2003 IFBB Night Of Figure.

To schedule an appearance for Jenny, Davana or any of the athlete's from JMP® Management, please contact us at the above numbers for rates & availability.

Curry Continues Winning Streak At The 2003 IFBB Fitness International!

Almost 4 months to the date of her winning the IFBB Fitness Olympia for an unprecedented 3rd, consecutive time, Susie Curry decided to see if she could take a stranglehold on stage at the Arnold Classic by retaining the IFBB Fitness International title. Susie won this event three times before in 1998, 1999 & 2002. Again, she is the only competitor to ever do so. Many thought that as the reigning Fitness Olympia champion Susie wouldn’t risk coming back to compete in this contest. Asked what her motivation was to return, Susie gave the same reply as she did last year, "I love competing & I really wanted to stand next to Arnold again!" Seems like a simple reason.

Breaking down the scoring, Susie won both swimsuit/physique rounds, just as she did at the 2001 & 2002 IFBB Fitness Olympias. She would place 2nd in the 45 second routine round & 3rd in the 2 minute fitness routine. That would be enough to give Susie her 4th IFBB Fitness International overall victory.

Making her best placing ever in this contest was Adela Garcia-Friedmansky by placing 2nd! This would help set her up for her victory in the 2003 IFBB N.Y.C. Pro Fitness a month later. Shannon Meteraud was also in the event & place 10th.

To schedule an appearance for Susie Curry, or any of the athlete's from JMP® Management, please contact us at the above numbers for rates & availability.
